Artist's Comments

This is what I´ve been working on these last months.
So called spangen helmet, based on found Giulianova bei Ancona, Italy.
Parts 3, 5 and 6 are attempt to replic of patterns on the original.
Parts 1,2 and 4 are my fantasy.
Also that dragon-like thing is my fantasy.
I cut (hammered) these patterns into 1,3 mm metal plate with small chisel (is that right term?), it took me completely about 18 hours of truly hard work.
My boyfriend put it together, and blackened it.

Full view, please - but beware of big resolution :-)

I don´t know what I can tell you about, just if you have any questions, ask me :D

Hm! Riveted scale for the cheeks and neck! Not a bad idea, though it's not legal for SCA combat so I can't really mimic it. It might make a heck of a shock-absorbing overlay, though. Usually chain mail is recommended, but maybe the larger pieces will absorb more energy.
